The BB 25200 was a four-axle passenger locomotive from the second generation of the BB Jacquemin series. In the first generation, passenger traffic with a top speed of 160 km/h had been split among the BB 16000 for the AC network and the BB 9200 for the DC network. Now the BB 25200 was a two-system locomotive, based on the slower BB 25100 and BB 25150.
45 were built between 1965 and 1967. In 1975, a second batch of five locomotives was built which were heavier. In 1987, 18 locomotives were equipped for push-pull service and designated BB 25200 R. In 2003, the fleet was reinforced by the rebuild of four BB 21150. All BB 25200 had been withdrawn by 2012.
