In 1856 and 1857, the KFNB got 24 2-4-0 freight locomotives from the StEG factory. They had outside cylinders and driving wheels of 1,264 mm (4 ft 1 3/4 in). In the new scheme of 1869, they became series VIIIa and VIIIb, before this they had already gotten new boilers. In 1881, they became series IVc and were retired between 1890 and 1900.
Between 1857 and 1859, the Theiss Railway (TVV) in today's Hungary got 35 identical locomotives. When the TVV was nationalized in 1880, the MÁV made them the series IIe and IIf. In 1911, some where still in service and became series 253 and 254. From then on, it took only four more years for the last ones to be retired.
