The type 78 of Flytoget designates eight EMUs which are part of the Oaris family of CAF. The Oaris had been a project funded by the Spanish state for a high speed train capable of speeds of 350 km/h. After CAF was not able to sell it in Spain, Flytoget ordered it for their Gardermobanen that runs from Oslo to its airport Gardermoen and further.

The sets consist of four cars and every car is powered by two 660 kW traction motors. They are approved for 245 km/h, although the Gardermobanen is currently only approved for 210 km/h. After their introduction into service in June 2021, it took only 19 days for them to be withdrawn again due to cracks in the bogies. It took until 2023 for them to return to service.
