To complement the successful Bombardier double-deck coaches, motor cars are being offered since 2013. Each motor car includes the same equipment as a standalone locomotive. Depending on the entry height, these are classified as class 445 or 446 and can be combined with trailers and control cars. Optionally the top speed can be increased to 189 km/h. For the “Intercity 2”, the DB uses the corresponding trailers and control cars together with a TRAXX 2.
