The class 38.0 of the StEG was a class of 2-6-0 mixed traffic locomotives of which 43 were built between 1906 and 1909 by the railway's own workshops. They were built in parallel with the class 39 that was very similar, but had larger drivers. They had a superheated boiler and were two-cylinder simples. With a top speed of 70 km/h, they were still suited for regular passenger trains. With the nationalization of 1909, they became kkStB class 760. After World War I, all came to the ČSD and were designated class 344.1. Their withdrawals came in the sixties.
